Dr Alka Bhikha


Role: General Practitioner with a special interest in Women’s Health

Dr Bhikha is a general practitioner with a special interest in Women’s Health. She completed her medical training at the University of Wales, College of Medicine and graduated in 1997.  She has a Diploma from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health.

Dr Bhikha has been a practising GP in the NHS since 2006 during which time she has developed a special interest in Women’s Health, becoming committed to improving women’s health throughout their reproductive years and beyond.

Dr Bhikha has an interest in helping couples through their fertility journeys, when they are trying to start a family, and if they are having problems conceiving.

Dr Bhikha has attended many events and more recently webinars on the Menopause and its effects on female health and wellbeing. The menopause can have a large and dramatic impact on a woman’s health. It can affect many aspects of a woman’s life including her relationships and her working life. Dr Bhikha is passionate about making the journey through menopause a more positive experience for women. She believes providing personalised care with appropriately tailored treatments creates the best patient outcome.

Dr Bhikha is also happy to be consulted regarding male health issues, including urinary problems and erectile dysfunction.

In her spare time, Dr Bhikha enjoys surfing, camping and playing with her 2 wonderful boys!
She is registered with the General Medical Council, Royal College of General Practitioners, The Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare, The International Menopause Society and the British Medical Association.
